
BASIC MOTORCYCLE COURSE
Our Basic Safety course delivers theoretical knowledge and practical “hands-on” motorcycle training for the safe operation of a motorcycle. Students get the opportunity to practice motorcycle operation on several styles of bikes in a controlled, safe setting.
Theory and skills covered include pre-ride safeguards, defensive riding techniques, safety considerations for the new rider, starting a motorcycle, right and left angle turns, controlled braking, shifting, slow speed manoeuvres, emergency braking and acceleration in a curve plus collision avoidance techniques.
WEEKDAYS

WEEKNIGHTS
$550.00 plus GST

- On Bike Training and Integrated Participatory Theory – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 5:30 pm – 10:10 pm – Located at our Riding Training Lot

WEEKENDS
$550.00 plus GST

- On Bike Training and Integrated Participatory Theory – Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm – Located at our Riding Training Lot

WOMEN’S ONLY
$550.00 plus GST
- We are offering a Women’s Only course for the ladies who would prefer to learn with their peers.
- Duration: 14 hours of on bike training and integrated participatory theory
- Instruction Times & Locations:
- On Bike Training and Integrated Participatory Theory – Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm – Located at our Riding Training Lot
- Motorbike, snacks and water provided.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS

- 16 years of age and hold at least a Class 7 Learner’s License. Parental Liability Waiver will be required for those under the age of minority.
- A properly fitted DOT approved helmet.
- Proper Eye Protection (sunglasses, glasses, shield on helmet)
- Footwear that covers the ankles and any laces tucked into boots (NO runners, NO steel toe boots, NO leather sole cowboy boots)
- Durable jacket and pants. (Jeans, Draggin Jeans or Leather) Motorcycle-grade leather or synthetic leather preferred.
- Riding gloves or leather gloves (not soft)
- We reserve the right to remove a student whose riding gear does not meet the minimum requirements.
- All safety gear must be worn when riding on our course or on the road ride at all times, no exceptions. Instructors will remove a student whose riding gear does not meet the minimum requirements.
- Rain gear is optional but recommended.
All students, no exceptions, are expected to sign our Liability Waiver that will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course. Although we are a safety training facility the risk of injury cannot be entirely removed.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
All motorcycle training courses take place at our training lot which is located at the First Alliance Church, 12345-40 Street SE.
Student Safety is constantly at the forefront of every course. Once proficient at riding, we take students on the road, in real traffic conditions to practice their newly acquired skills.
We provide motorcycles for the Basic Motorcycle, Private, Can-Am Spyder and Women’s Only course. Student must provide own motorbike for the Refresher, Advanced, and Test Preparation course.
Helmets are not provided or rented due to hygienic reasons and the fit & style is unique to each rider. You will be required to bring a properly fitted DOT approved helmet.
Our course activities are very well organized and our instructors regularly stress safety rules. Still, riding a motorcycle can be a high-risk activity so speeds are kept low on our closed-course location & injuries are rare.
- A DOT approved helmet. Full-face helmets are among the safest & should fit properly. We do not rent helmets.
- Eye protection (sunglasses, glasses, helmet shield)
- Durable jacket (heavy denim, blue jean, leather)
- Proper pants (jeans, leather, Kevlar, Draggin jeans) motorcycle-grade leather or synthetic leather preferred.
- Riding gloves or leather gloves (not soft).
- Footwear that covers the ankles. NO runners, NO leather sole cowboy boots, NO steel toe boots. All laces must be tucked into boot. A lower heel boot is better.
- All safety gear must be worn when riding on our course or on the road ride at all times, no exceptions.
- Rain gear is optional but recommended to bring.
- Instructors will remove a student whose riding gear does not meet the minimum requirements for level of protection during your course. Contact us if you have any questions.
